NHS Lanarkshire have integrated Florence as part of the European-wide initiative United4Health, geared towards using new technology to improve healthcare. NHS Lanarkshire partnered with North and South Lanarkshire Council in the initiative and Florence was demonstrated to be a key tool in supporting COPD patients to self-manage at home and increasing their confidence and feeling of control over their condition. A recent press release focused on John, a patient with COPD, who since using Flo has reduced his hospital admissions from 11 in the previous year to just one.
According to John’s agreed self management plan, Florence prompted and received readings for pulse and oxygen levels, providing guidance according to the patient’s reported readings and individual care needs. If symptoms exacerbated, Florence provided specific guidance and notified the Specialist Nurse creating an opportunity for early intervention supported by recent clinical data as required.
